Paramour

Twilight’s lucid mistress moves,
effervescent the earth beneath;

Breathing in heaven’s sacred mist,
she merges magnetic moments ~
The universe embracing passion’s play,
         She slithers to your starboard side;
                     Her love eternally a senseless presence,

                      invokes mystical moonbeams
                       forever freefalling into morning.

Scavenger Hunt

Pain's strategy in each cautious measure,
 skilled players in the art of probable war;
  You drew the board as I set the pieces,
   lonely; scavenger hearts seeking something more ~

We excavated ruins of what once had been,
 digging up skeletons,  ghosts absorbing space;
  Burning forests occupying our past innocence,
   wanting souls grounded in the same wretched place ~

Forged in dark elements,
 comforted in familiar games,
  born to run in divergent directions,
   we scatter on voiceless paths of retreat;
 Leading quiet masquerade dances around each other,
   Ego's deception chopping at our one heartbeat ~

One day will we sacrifice our position in this rotten game?
 choking our deafening cries of mercy?
  banishing our sad songs into an abyss all alone?

As endless days waste into graves hunting our presence,
 will we salvage love remedying our scavenger hearts?
  or will love fester; a cesspool of our unknown?

Breaking Sorrow's Anchor Free

      Tides drawing
    our hearts
  inward
    washing
past damages
        out   to   sea;
Together
   we will rise
      on the crest
           of tomorrow,
             One Love
              breaking
          sorrow's anchor
                free.

Post Note:  The above poem is Part Three of three poems.  Please view the Poetry & Quotes Pages for Part One: A Dream Forgiven and Part Two: Sorrow's Anchor.  The best part about being a poet is one can write her own ending & I much prefer a happy ending in love & life ☺ How about you?
